Malaysia Master 2016 [Part of BWF Grand Prix Gold Series] comes to Penang

"I would like to thank the Badminton Association of Malaysia for bringing this tournament to Penang as it creates the opportunity for people in Penang to witness our badminton players in action against international players.

"Furthermore, this is in line with the State Government hope in making Penang an International Sporting City where more prestigious sporting events are held," said Chong.

Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) administration manager Ahmad Mohd Idris who is also the tournament secretariat said Chong Wei will be playing at the the tournament to earn world ranking points and also to qualify for the Rio Olympics as the top four players in the world.

"Besides earning world ranking points, Chong Wei will be playing in front of his hometown fans and hopefully he will be able to clinch the title," he said.
